Gippsland FM Awards Night 2013

The Gippsland FM annual award function was held recently.  It was a fantastic night well organised by Emma Waghorne, Neil Little and Jaime Mack and featured Andy Milbourne as MC and music provided by The 350’s.  Recipients of nominations and awards were as follows:

Best Youth Program – nominations were Driving Force (Rachel Camilleri, Anthony Moore and CJ Dunlop), Be Heard Project and Kurnai College Program (Peter Thain).  Winner was Kurnai College Program (Peter Thain).

Community Connection Award – nominations were Abundant Life (Lyn Harvey), Rainbow Connections (Jo Parker, Brendan Bowler) and 2013 Local Football.  Winner was Local Football (George Munro and Peter Rennie).

Best Specialist Music Program – nominations were Blues On The Boil (Ralf Koss), Cadillac Baby’s (Garry Roberts) and Slice Of Live.  Winner was Slice Of Live (Lauren Cummins and Peter Ruff).

Best Newcomer – nominations were Jo Parker (Rainbow Connections) and Jaime Mack (Bass & Electro Show).  Winner was Jaime Mack.

Best Ethnic Programnominations were Miyuki Vodden (Japanese), Mario Sammut (Maltese) and Peter & Elisabeth Kourlouris (Sunday Greek Show).  Winner was Peter & Elisabeth Kourlouris (Sunday Greek Show).

Volunteer of the Year (G & R Gunn Memorial Award) – awarded to Peter Gray.

Listeners’ Choice (Mrs Parry Memorial Award)runner ups were Ann Laidlaw and Mario Sammut; winner was Hilary Reynolds (Tuesday and Friday Breakfast Shows).

Presenter Of The Year – awarded to Mario Sammut.

Inductees to the Hall of Fame were Lauren Cummins, Maria Doganieri and Mark Vitlin and a Lifetime Achievement Award was also made to Ken Thompson.
