Round four of the Mid Gippsland football netball league was highlighted by a huge Thorpdale win over local rivals Mirboo north. A six goal one first quarter set the scene for their 97 point win. Mitch Gorman kicked eight for the winners.
Meeniyan Dumbalk United celebrated their past players day with the inclusion of AFL great Dyson Heppell into their lineup for their match with Tarwin. The game went right down to the wire with Hepple a significant influence in the final outcome. MDU winning 103 to Tarwin 89. Toby Mahoney kicked five for the Sharks in a Best on ground performance for his side.
Heppel, Kerr and Stuart managed three each for the victorious Demon side.
Hill End All but killed off Boolarras hopes back to back finals campaigns with a 27 point win at Boolarra on Saturday. Scores were level at halftime but it was Hill Ends experienced players like Morrow and Johnston to the fore in the second half as they ran out winners 14 13 97 to Boolarra’s 10 10 70
Fish Creek again racked up a big score, this time 21 10 136 against a feisty Morwell East 10 3 63. Wilson, McTaggart and Wiedeman kicking 6, 5 and four each for Fish Creek with Kairon Dorling Best on ground
Newborough put their game to bed early against Toora. the ageless Peter Ainswerth with four goals the stand out for the dogs.
And after a first quarter tussle between Yinnar and Stoney Creek and Yinnar ran out winners 22 11 143 to Stoney Creek 10 4 64.
Kane Grinstead Jones helped himself to 7 of the best with Grinny ably supported by Will Robinson who managed six.
For Stoney Creek it was Luke Firth playing a lone hand up forward with five of his sides 10 goals
